Liverpool F.C. International Academy Utah is holding tryouts for current and prospective players next month, as the expansion of teams across the state steps up a gear.
The organization - which operates in Salt Lake City, St George and from May in Ogden - is looking for boys and girls in the under-9 to under-18 age groups.
Tryouts will run at various locations from 21st May until 1st June, with hundreds of youngsters expected to make a bid to play in a Liverpool F.C. jersey.
Anthony Godfrey, Academy Director at Liverpool F.C. International Academy Utah, said: “Tryouts are always a great way of bringing young players together and giving them the opportunity to find a way ahead for the new season.
“Our coaching techniques are designed to maximize the development of every single youngster who comes to us, while ensuring they also enjoy their childhood journey playing for the Academy.
“We coach players according to The Liverpool Way, a set of core values that come directly from LFC, including Ambition, Commitment, Dignity and Unity.
“By following these values, we make sure every youngster who wants to play for us has a chance to continue their development, both on and off the pitch.”
The Academy’s first twelve months has seen teams secure first places at a string of competitions, including four gold medals at this year’s Real Salt Late President’s Cup.
Outlaws F.C., based in Ogden, is the latest club to join us, with the two organizations set to merge on May 11th.
And with the Spring Series having recently got under way, players are continuing to impress under the LFC IA U banner.
Wayne Scholes CEO of Liverpool F.C. International Academy Utah, said: “When we started this Academy, we promised to bring the values of LFC to Utah and that is precisely what we’ve done in the first year.
“We are absolutely committed to giving all our youngsters the chance to make the most of their talent, but they must also enjoy and cherish playing soccer.
“By holding tryouts, we are offering every young person in Utah, who wants to play in the famous LFC jersey, an opportunity to do just that.”
There is no charge for current Liverpool International Academy Players to tryout. All others are charged a $10 tryout fee and receive a Liverpool FC IA Utah Shirt.
Tryouts for all age groups in St George will take place at a location to be determined from 21st May until 24th May.
In Salt Lake City, tryouts will be held at West Jordan Soccer Complex. Under-9 and under-10 age groups will run from 21st May to 24th May, while under-11 to under-18 groups will run from 29th May until 1st June.
