Liverpool F.C. International Academy Utah Academy Director Anthony Godfrey is looking forward to working with new recruit Dave Rogers, who has joined as Regional Director of Coaching for Southern Utah.
The pair worked alongside each other for a number of years at the Liverpool F.C. International Academy, before Godfrey switched to the Utah-based Academy last year.
Rogers, who coached the Indian International Team that won the 2015 SAFF Cup, will be handed responsibility for all coaching matters in Southern Utah, as LFC IA Utah continues to expand.
And Godfrey expects him to use his 23 years of experience in senior football to good effect in the United States.
He said: “I am delighted to bring Dave Rogers to our coaching team as I know his passion and knowledge of the game will benefit many around his presence.
“This is fantastic news for our coaches and players in St. George, as Dave brings a wealth of experience from being a professional player around Europe to developing many players to international youth level as a coach.
“Having worked closely with Dave over many years, his key achievements have come in the most testing environments. But yet his character and leadership has always got the best out of his staff and players.
“I'm sure that by being part of our academy, his hard work - both on and off the field - will see him become a very successful Regional Director of Coaching for Southern Utah.”
Rogers spent four years coaching at Liverpool F.C. International Academy from 2014 and was most recently manager of DSK Shivajians in the Indian I-League.
He has played in the Scottish Premier League, English, Dutch and Irish leagues, as well as the Champions League and UEFA Cup, competing in over 600 games and winning four titles.
