Young soccer players will be out to impress at the Liverpool F.C. International Academy Invitational Tournament next year.
The competition, open to players aged nine to nineteen, will take place at locations in and around St George, Utah, on February 2nd and 3rd.
Interested teams have until January 15th to register for the tournament, with competition for places expected to be tight.
Wayne Scholes, CEO of Liverpool F.C. International Academy Utah, said: “We have had a wonderful first year of operations here at Liverpool F.C. International Academy Utah, so we wanted to celebrate with a soccer tournament.
“By hosting the competition, we are showing our commitment to the continuous development of soccer here in Utah. It is a great opportunity for players and parents to see what The Liverpool Way is all about.
“We want all the teams to experience the facilities we are developing, in line with the ethos of a great club like Liverpool F.C. I expect places for teams in all age groups to fill up very quickly.”
The tournament will take place across a number of fields at the Sullivan Soccer Complex, which is set amongst 60 acres of landscaped parkland in the Washington City area of St George.
Games will also be played at the nearby Little valley soccer fields.
Daren Woolstenhulme, General Manager of Liverpool F.C International Academy Utah, said: “The locations we have chosen are both fantastic facilities, with good quality pitches and plenty of room for all the players. I am looking forward to seeing as many teams as possible at the tournament.
“Over the last twelve months, we have seen a huge amount of expansion here at Liverpool F.C. International Academy Utah, so a competition of this size is a just tribute to that achievement.
