Liverpool F.C. International Academy Utah will add up to 230 young soccer players to its roster later this year after agreeing to a merger with Outlaws F.C. based in Ogden.
The two organisations will join forces on May 11th, giving Outlaws F.C. players a chance to continue their development within the Liverpool F.C International Academy Utah framework.
From next season, youngsters from the Northern Utah-based club will wear the famous red kit of Liverpool F.C., alongside club-mates based in Salt Lake City and St. George.
They will also be taught The Liverpool Way, a set of values – including Ambition, Commitment, Dignity and Unity – that guides every LFC IA Utah player.
Wayne Scholes, CEO of Liverpool F.C. International Academy Utah, said: “I am delighted to welcome players, coaches, staff and parents from Outlaws F.C. to Liverpool F.C. International Academy Utah.
“Our standards mean we are very careful with whom we partner. Zig and the entire board at Outlaws F.C. have similar values to us and are driven by excellence and a desire to do the best for their club.
"We felt a connection with them immediately and believe that with their passion, good players and coaches, together with our infrastructure, resources, and curriculum from Liverpool F.C. in the UK as a part of the International Academy system, we can continue to raise the bar in Utah soccer."
The merger will allow staff from Outlaws F.C. to work alongside LFC IA Utah coaches in teaching The Liverpool Way, while improving the development of youth soccer across Utah.
Zig Peacock, President of Outlaws F.C., said: “As a board, we feel that Liverpool offers the best option for our coaches and teams, but most importantly for our children. They have a unique structure not replicated in any other club in Utah.
“This structure will allow us to expand our focus on player development, provide amazing opportunities for our children and improve on the coaching education/development we have started.
“These are all items we have sought for the club, as the Outlaws board. Merging with Liverpool allows us to implement these goals much sooner and provide a better experience for our children.”
