A replica first team shirt signed by LFC ladies captain Gemma Bonner is up for grabs, as the Academy marks the start of 2018 with a great new competition.

One lucky youngster, or group, with the best LFC cheer - or chant - will be selected by popular vote to win the unique prize.

Players should record their LFC cheer on video and send to: competition@lfcacademyutah.com.

The best three entries, selected by Liverpool F.C. International Academy Utah, will be posted on social media for a public vote.

Wayne Scholes, CEO of Liverpool F.C. International Academy Utah, said: “We all know what a great year 2017 was for the Academy, so we wanted to get 2018 off to the right start.

“Gemma Bonner has been kind enough to donate this fantastic prize, which will surely be a collectors’ item for years to come.

“We wanted to do something different for this competition, which is why we’re asking for videos of cheers, and chants, supporting Liverpool F.C. It will all add up to a really unique way of deciding who wins the signed LFC jersey.

The competition is part of an exciting start to the year for soccer in Utah, as Liverpool F.C. International Academy Utah gears up for its first tournament in February.

The two-day tournament, to be held in St. George on February 2nd and 3rd, is set to feature junior teams from across the United States.

“I am so proud that Liverpool F.C. International Academy Utah has become a key part of the junior soccer scene across our state in just a year,” Scholes added.

“The tournament is a celebration of that achievement. The LFC shirt competition is a way of showing our support for one of the best programs and biggest clubs in the world.

“By teaching the principles of The Liverpool Way – Ambition, Commitment, Dignity and Unity – we are developing youngsters to be proud of, both on and off the pitch.

The competition will be open for entries on Wednesday, January 10th. Entrants should send their recorded video cheers – or chants – to be no longer than 60 seconds, to: competition@lfcacademyutah.com. A download link, via wetransfer or another file sharing website, is also acceptable.

The entry deadline is noon (MDT) on Friday, January 19th. The top three entries, as selected by Liverpool F.C. International Academy Utah, will then be uploaded onto social media on Tuesday, January 23rd.
