Youngsters from Liverpool F.C. International Academy Utah sealed the Metro C title with a 6-4 win over Razzia 04 Reapers – and with it, the team’s second successive promotion.

Saturday’s win at Bennion Jr. High means the Reds finished the ’04 age group season undefeated with a goal difference of plus 26 – 15 goals more than the next highest team.

The Liverpool F.C. International Academy Utah will now hold trials, starting on May 22 and running through to June 2nd, at various locations throughout Utah. Successful youngsters will be invited to play under the LFC IA Utah banner.

Wayne Scholes, CEO of Liverpool F.C. International Academy Utah, said: “I am so proud of the way our players handled themselves in a very tough game on Saturday. They are all true Reds.

“A key part of the philosophy here at the academy is playing The Liverpool Way and the youngsters on our team have taken that to their hearts. Winning is in the Liverpool F.C. DNA.

“The fact that we are holding trials over the next few weeks is great news, as it allows us to bring more young people into the Liverpool F.C. family. I can’t wait to see them take to the field next season.”

Saturday’s game saw Liverpool F.C. International Academy Utah take the lead through BJ Young’s strike, while it was Luke Scholes who rounded off the scoring with a fine effort late on.

“I am confident that the Liverpool F.C. International Academy Utah will be a force to be reckoned with across the age groups next season,” Wayne Scholes added.

“We have built a team of staff and coaches who are committed to making the most of this wonderful opportunity. The players who are successful at trials will be given a chance to represent one of the biggest clubs in the world.”

The Liverpool F.C. International Academy Utah has been set up to offer players, aged seven to nineteen, the opportunity to join the global Liverpool F.C. family.

Two clubs have already signed up to join the Academy – Fire FC of St George and FC St George.
