Jonny Broadhead signs up for Liverpool F.C. International Academy Utah

Liverpool F.C. International Academy Utah has appointed head coach of Dixie State University's men's soccer team - Jonny Broadhead - as the organisation’s new Regional Director of Coaching (Southern Utah).

Liverpool F.C. International Academy Utah has appointed head coach of Dixie State University's men's soccer team - Jonny Broadhead - as the organisation’s new Regional Director of Coaching (Southern Utah).

Broadhead brings with him huge experience at club and collegiate levels, including a successful three-year run as assistant men’s soccer coach at Utah Valley University, prior to joining DSU last year.

The former assistant coach at Colorado Mesa was a four-year letter winner as a midfielder with Colorado State-Pueblo from 2001-04, and finished his collegiate career with three goals and 13 assists.

Broadhead said: “It is a massive privilege to work with the Liverpool F.C. International Academy Utah and give young players the chance to learn 'The Liverpool Way’.

“Liverpool F.C. has an unrivalled history of success within soccer across the globe and I want youngsters in Utah to benefit from that. It is a very exciting time for players in this area.”

The Liverpool F.C, International Academy Utah has been set up to offer players, aged seven to nineteen, the opportunity to join the global Liverpool F.C. family. Trials will take place this month and into early June.

Broadhead added: “I would like to thank Liverpool F.C. International Academy Utah for giving me the opportunity to help direct the coaches and players here in St George.

“I look forward to building relationships with all the club members and guiding the players to develop an undeniable love for the game.”

Wayne Scholes, CEO of Liverpool F.C. International Academy Utah, said: “The whole philosophy of the Liverpool International Academy Utah is to make sure youngsters benefit from ‘The Liverpool Way’.

“Jonny has precisely the right qualities and expertise to achieve those aims. We are very excited to have him on board, as we look to grow the organization in Southern Utah.”

Trials will be held across the Utah area from May 15th to June 2nd - depending on age groupings and location - with successful youngsters invited to play under the LFC IA Utah banner.

Two clubs have already signed up to join the Academy – Fire FC of St George and FC St George.
